This piece is part of the artist's Voiceless series, works featuring a single figure in each canvas. Many of the works contain dark undertones, suggesting trauma or strain and a notion of longing or frustration. They call attention to those who are figuratively voiceless, ignored by society and the government. The scraping, scratching and layering of paint further implies an urban experience of hard choices.
