Description
Telford's Patterns was created from an interest in combining glass and fiber in her artwork. She also drew inspiration from her grandmother who was a weaver. The manner in which the work is displayed adds an air of studious intellectualism to weaving, an art too often regarded as a trade. This year the piece was shown in Celebrating Women, a juried show at Idaho State University. Louise is a self-taught glass artist who has twice attended the Pilchuck Glass School as a student. Patterns was made of kiln-formed glass and cotton in 2004.
