Petr Novotny began working with glass in 1968, and by 1983 was known as a master of the material. In 1989, he was one of the first artists in the newly formed Czech Republic to start his own glass studio, Ajeto Glassworks. Novotny has participated in two Summer Hot Shop Artist Series, in 2003 and 2005. This Clarinet was created during his 2005 residency and is signed by the artist.
