Seduction is part of a series by the artist focusing on color. Carter uses texture and shape to heighten the colors' tonality, and adds sculptural elements to help augment the ephemeral with the concrete. Carter is on the faculty of the Art Institute of Seattle, Kirkland Arts Center, Pratt Fine Arts Center and the Seattle Academy of Fine Arts. She mainly teaches color theory and design. In 1998 her work was featured in New American Paintings. Her work is in many public and private collections throughout America and Europe, and she just completed a commission for the Hotel Max in Seattle.
