Ever dreamed of training Seabiscuit or just being around horses? Imagine if your child could visit behind the scenes at the racetrack. They can at Calder! Your child will shadow a professional racehorse trainer during morning workouts - learning how the horses are cared for, fed, prepared for their races, the various equipment the horses wear and about life behind the scenes at the racetrack. In addition, your child will be treated like a VIP for the day at the track with lunch (for up to 4) in the exclusive Turf Club. Your child will also be recognized with his or her own named race and winner's circle presentation. Included is a Paddock tour where last minute instructions are given to the jockeys by their trainers before the races plus a tour of the press box where your child will see how the race caller learns the names of the horses for each race. A souvenir photo of the day will also be provided.
