Description

Beautiful rag rug crafted by Nancy Woodworth and donated by New Mexico Women's Foundation. Ms. Woodworth is a northern New Mexico artisan. Rug is in muted pastel colors and is absolutely beautiful.

New Mexico Women's Foundation nurtures women and girls who want to establish cottage industries. They may weave, sew, embroider, restore furniture, cook/cater, design and/or create jewelry, pottery, metal art, and other products; any craft or business they would like to form.

NMWF produces Rag Rug Festivals creating an opportunity to pair budding entrepreneurs with seasoned artisans and businesswomen in professional centers of creativity. NMWF believes that their cottage industries program gives hope to every woman who suffers the outrageous indignities of poverty, assault, and lack of adequate health care for themselves and their families. NMWF helps women and girls achieve strength and independence by encouraging development of their talents, skills, and leadership abilities. By creating products in their communities that build on local traditions and materials, women and girls may find a fulfilling experience for them, now and in the future.
