Description

2005,Approx. 18 X 24 inch Acrylic on Prepared paper. this work is from a group of paintings made during a month long experience of creating one painting per day. The still life is a way to understand how to paint anything. Each set up is like a miniature landscape, the curve and skin of fruit is reminiscent of human flesh. Light acts on all object and the still life allows one to look for a long time to understnad the meaning associated with the objects grouped together: how they relate to each other, how I relate to their placement, why some are dominant, why they give me particular feelings. So the work becomes meditative and eventually revealing in one way or another.
