Description

NOTE:  The image at left is not reduced-size screenshots of our work.  It's just a general graphic that depicts web pages, generally.  Our stuff is better than that!

There are web sites, and there are web sites.  Some people think that just anyone can build a good web site and, sadly, many sites look like just "anyone" did.  Many web sites have an amateurish look and feel to them; and even the ones with a more professional appearance have crippling and customer-alienating functionality and usability problems.  Creating a web site that is truly functional, elegant, imaginative, attractive, standards-compliant, and effective -- with high production values and a palpable air of professionalism -- is not easily done.  Even people who build web sites for a living often can't achieve it; and even if a small- to medium-sized business happens to find a web designer who can, the cost is usually prohibitive.

But if you can be the winning bidder on this business service auction item, then you, too, can have a high-quality web site and Internet presence of the type and quality that usually only the "big boys" can afford!

This auction item includes up to seven (7) business days of professional web design, graphics, copywriting/text-creation, and any and all other services necessary to give you and your business the web site of your dreams... and the envy of your competitors.  Your customers, creditors and others will be instantly impressed; and your prospects will be confident that they're dealing with a truly professional organization... even one that, perhaps, appears larger than it really is.

If it turns out that your logo needs to be either created or re-worked so it will be worthy of display on your new web site, that will be included.  So, too, will redesign of your letterhead, envelopes, business cards, and brochures so that they will conform to and be consistent with the new image suggested by your new web site.

Finally, this item also includes one (1) year of domain name registration to either obtain a domain name for your site if you don't already have one, or to add another year to its registration period if you do; and also included is one (1) full year of free web hosting for your site, and comprehensive email services for you and all of your employees, on a lightning-fast server in one of the largest, fastest, most secure and generally best data centers in the nation.

No SOHO or small/medium-sized business (or even a large one, actually) should pass-up this golden opportunity.

This is a Live Event Item.

Special Instructions

The winning bidder will be contacted by The DesElms Consultancy within one (1) week of the end of the auction to arrange for a time to begin the engagement.  The parties will then negotiate and arrange the logistics.

The small- to medium-sized business of the winning bidder need not be in or near Napa, California.  In fact, it neededn't even be in California, as long as the parties can adequately communicate by phone and/or email, and as long as the winning bidder is able to send to DesElms the items (photos, text, etc.) that will be needed to build the site.  The winning bidder must, of course, timely and completely cooperate with all of DesElms's reasonable requests for whatever access and/or information will be required in order for it to satisfactorily complete the engagement.

The engagement must be commenced within 90 days of the end of the auction; and will be completed within thirty (30) days of said commencement.

If it is necessary for unusual or unanticipated expenses to be incurred by The DesElms Consultancy in order to fulfill its obligation, said expenses may be billable additionally, upon agreement between  the parties.

The web site offered in this auction item may be many pages in size and complexity, but within reasonable limits.  Since the designer who will be building the site believes that on the Internet, "Content is King," there is little chance that the winning bidder will require more web pages than the designer is willing to create; however, an absolute limit shall be the number and complexity of pages as would normally be obtainable on the open market for a maximum of from $2,500 to $3,500 (which, incidentally, is a lot... so don't worry that you won't get one heck of a web site out of this deal!).

The web pages will be "static", with an optional small amount of dynamic content using RSS and other similar feed technologies.  Or, if a truly dynamic web site is requested, then an open-source (or fee-based, at the client's expense) content management system will be utilized/customized, and only the amount of database work necessary to establish and configure the database for same will be performed.  No complex custom programming (other than, perhaps, some small-to-moderate amount of DHTML and/or Javascripting) will be included.

If the winning bidder requests of DesElms any services which are beyond the scope of this engagement, such services would be negotiated between the parties, and billable separately.
