Description

Camp Winnebago, an all-boys camp, is located on the shores of Echo Lake in Fayette, Maine. Last year our campers came from 4 countries and 22 states. We have a high return rate, over 90% last year, indicating that campers are very happy, and an easy entry for new campers. We are a very welcoming place. Both the counselors and the campers make the entry into camp reassuring, welcoming and friendly. We have left Camp Winnebago small enough so everyone gets to know each other, but large enough so we have the broadest possible range of activities and facilities.  We have 350 acres of land and 2 miles of shorefront on beautiful Echo Lake and we keep enrollment at around 160.Founded in 1919, Camp Winnebago has had only three owners in the course of its long history. While many activities have changed over time, the natural beauty of our landscapes and our guiding principles have remained the same.  Our goals are respecting ourselves and others, mastering new skills and perfecting old one, acting kindly, cooperating, and cultivating strength of character. Everything else we do, including all the fun, is simply the process of putting those values into effect.  At Camp Winnebago, we work to expand every boy's horizons by giving him a safe environment in which to explore as many different paths as he chooses. Boys from near as Maine and as far away as China with interests and skills as varied as their origins come here and know our programs was designed just for them.  When he leaves, no matter what his destination, a Winnebagan understands that playing is just as important as winning, and the journey, the reward.  (2nd session only July 18 - Aug 14, 2007 only)  Must be a boy entering 3rd or 4th grade in the fall of 2007.

This is a Live Event Item.
