Description

The winning bidder will receive a 2 1/2 hour consultation to help you to better understand your's rights and your role in the special education process so that you may better be able to advocate in obtaining the most appropriate educational supports and services for your child.

I have ten years experience in the area of special education and belong to several related professional organizations. My personal experience advocating for both of my children with disabilities as well as for parents in Ravenswood City School District has broadened my understanding and experience. Additionally, I have five years of experience in both creating and delivering trainings related to parent rights. In my position in the Education Department at Parents Helping Parents, I have received excellent training and have participated in many online national trainings and state level education trainings.

We'll talk ahead of time about your greatest areas of concern and I will target the information I share with you to those topics.

You will also be given

  • Pete & Pam Wrights book: "From Emotions to Advocacy, Second Edition",
  • "IDEA-2004" also by Pete Wright
  • and a copy of: "California Composite of Laws".
All sections of interest will be tabbed in all three of these books.
  • Along with that, you will also receive a CD with resources and information that I will prepare specifically for you and may prove helpful with regard to learning more about your child's disability/need and your educational rights.

This auction item would be a wonderful gift for someone you care about. Learning about your rights can be a difficult task when you have a child who has significant needs. Allow me to bring the training and information directly to you at a time that works for you and your family.
