Description

Jaime Kleist's masterpiece is an homage to the times of the shtetl of his Jewish ancestors in their community. He paints from his informed imagination, holding on to the stories and spirit from the Shtetl and this is manifested in his paintings, which retain that traditional Judaic aura. His paintings are said to induce emotion and nostalgia in the people who view his work. Kleist's paintings reflect the tradition, humor, Jewish fervor and the intense feelings emblematic of this time. Kleist is a very well known famous Jewish Uruguayan artist.

Painting is 11x15 inches in pastel and includes a wood frame.

"There´s a certain intensity in Kleist´s paintings that absolutely fascinates me."
- Steve Sadow. Professor, Boston University. USA
