Description
These authentic Ukranian Pysanki (Ukranian word for "writing") are individually hand made and blown and varnished from traditional methods used by early 20th century Ukranians who settled in Pennsylvania's coal mining region. The wax- and-dye peasant folk art is made in the "drop-pull" batik style. Each mark is made by trasfering a droplet of melted beeswax onto the egg's surface. On duck eggs, this takes over 250 patient markings. The qual eggs are simpler, but even more unique.
