Tom Aprile is the head of sculpture. He received a B.F.A. from the Cleveland Institute of Art (1976) and an M.F.A. from Syracuse University (1978). Professor Aprile has been the recipient of several honors and awards including two Pollock-Krasner Foundation Fellowships, a New York Foundation Fellowship, a Fulbright Scholarship to Nigeria, and numerous internal awards and grants such as an Old Gold Fellowship and a Central Investment Fund for Research Enhancement (CIFRE) grant from The University of Iowa. He has had many one-person exhibitions in New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles and group exhibitions across the country. Professor Aprile also taught at the University of Oklahoma, the Cleveland Institute of Art, and Obafemi Awolowo University in Ife, Nigeria.
