Monica Correia received a B.S. degree "Cum Laude" in Architecture from
the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and a M.F.A. degree
from the University of Iowa. She oversees the 3D Design program and
teaches beginning and advanced 3D Design courses, including Computer
Aided Design (CAD) and Computer Modeling for 3D Design. She designed
interiors for stores and malls in Brazil and Portugal. Her work has
been exhibited at the "Conselho Regional de Engenharia e Arquitetura",
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, at Chico Art Center, California; and at
Moss-Thorns Gallery of Art, Kansas, among others. Recently, she
received the Old Gold Fellowship from the University of Iowa. Her
current work focuses on the construction of design objects with CAD
tools such as 3D printing and laser cutting technology. She has taught
at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro School of Architecture.
