Artist statement: "My other focus when working in the studio is on the sensual aspects of the paint; I am interested in the process in which paint tells a story through the history of the layers applied.  my intention is to engage viewers in a visual conversation as they contemplate the surface interest of my paintings.  in creating this surface there is very little brushwork used.  Instead, a variety of palette knives are employed to layer and scratch away at the paint to which a cold wax medium has been added."
