1 bottle Livingston Moffett 15th Anniversary Cabernet
1999 Cabernet Sauvignon, Moffett Vineyard, Napa Valley
Enticing scents of dried herbs, glove leather and black currant. Ultrasmooth and rich with great concentration and copious flavors of red cherry-cassis fruit. Finishes with a wonderful flourish of red currant. Outstanding
1 Bottle Andersons' Conn Valley (2003 Release)
1999 Barrel Select Fournier Vineyard Chardonnay
100% Carneros Appellation, 750ml
As we worked with the 1999 Fournier Vineyard Chardonnay we noticed a few barrels that were showing promise of becoming extraordinary. We separated these barrels from the rest of the vintage and allowed them to age a few extra years.
Made from a grapes from the Fournier vineyard in Carneros. After careful selection, the best fruit underwent long barrel fermentation in 100% new French oak barrels. The wine was then aged for 18 months in 40% new French oak barrels.
Tasting Notes:
Bright light gold color. A sweet nose of oak, flowres, and vanilla with some minerality. Big, round and full-bodied smoke and wood flavors come across along with citrus and tropical fruit on the palate. Long finish on fruit. Drink now to 2008.
1 Bottle of Anderson Conn Valley Estate Reserve Cabernet
90 points from Robert Parker: "The 1999 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve is a dense purple-colored offering revealing impressive notes of cedar wood, spice box, black currants, licorice, and earth, noticeable but ripe tannin, and a long, heady, concentrated finish with plenty of power and fruit in reserve. However, patience is required. There is no doubting that the style of wine built by the father and son team of Gus and Todd Anderson looks more to France than Napa Valley. Their wines always possess obvious structure, seem to build in the bottle, and generally taste better after a few years of cellaring.
