This August 1963 issue of National Geographic includes Jane Goodall's first article to ever appear in the world renowned magazine. "My Life Among Wild Chimpanzees" is a 37 page story written by Jane, illustrated with her own and Hugo van Lawick's exquisite photos of Gombe National Park.

Jane eloquently describes her first impressions of Gombe and the chimpanzees she would dedicate her life to; from her burgeoning friendship with David Graybeard to the dramatic discovery of tool use amongst the chimps.
