Description

This unusual view of the Upper Falls of the Genesee River in Rochester is digitally reproduced from the original 1890 photograph. The image is looking southeast across the river gorge from the west end of the Vincent Place Bridge. in the distance is the falls with the city skyline. Noteable are the Gorsline Building, at the brink of the falls, newly rebuilt and enlarged after a disasterous fire in November 1888 and the absence of the Platt Street Bridge. The photograph is archival framed with acid free materials under non-glare ultra violet light conservation glassThe outer matt has a dark green suede finish and the frame and filler have a birdseye maple veneer. The overall size is 15H X 18"W."
