Local artist, Sarah A. Phillips, offers one of her original oil paintings, Easter, which she created in glorious spring colors for the WXXI 2006 Annual Auction. Inspired by the Legend of the Dogwood (included with the painting), the artist painted magnificent 6-inch dogwood blossoms and a beautiful butterfly, whose three stages of life symbolize resurrection. The wrap-around oval canvas creates a stunning unframed view of the spectacular dogwood and Yellow Swallowtail butterfly, painted in life-like detail. The oval frame measures 16 x 20" and is signed on the back by the artist a retired Physical Education and Art teacher and member of the Allegany Artisans Fall Studio Tour.
