On display in the Foyer of Design Home 2006, "Venetian Afternoon" by Claudio Simonetti, (now 77 years old) is a skillfully crafted painting by one of Venice's most well-known senior artists. Simonetti lives just outside the city of Venice and travels there every weekday to try to find the next great image. He also paints the famous island of Capri, near Naples. His father, another gifted painter, was his most influential teacher.
