"Paris Street" by Harrij Van Dongen, on display in the Dining Room of Design Home 2006, is a nearly-abstract impressionist painting of a typical Parisian street. Van Dongen was born in Holland in 1909 and studied at the Academy of Fine Arts at The Hague. Van Dongen painted in both this impressionist style and a totally abstract style, and he had an outstanding reputation in both.
