The classic American horse race, the Kentucky Derby is the oldest consecutively held Thoroughbred race in America. It is run annually on the first Saturday in May at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky. Along with the Preakness in mid-May, and Belmont in early June, it is the first jewel of the coveted Triple Crown of Thoroughbred racing. Triple Crown winners include memorable names such as Secretariat, Seattle Slew, and Affirmed. The Kentucky Derby is viewed by many as the most exciting two minutes in sports. You will have a chance to see the rich and famous that mingle among the Derby Day crowd and who add a unique dimension to the spectacle of the "Run for the Roses? such as Muhammad Ali, Donald Trump, Peyton Manning, & John Elway.
