Item Number: 318
Time Left: CLOSED
Description
Four passes to Thursdays @ Cranbrook which includes a tour of Cranbrook house, garden visit and a buffet summer luncheon.
Cranbrook House, the former home of Cranbrook founders George and Ellen Booth, was the first structure built on Cranbrook's campus and was named for the village in Kent, England from which George Booth's grandfather emigrated. Cranbrook House was designed by famed architect Albert Kahn in 1908. Today, the English Arts and Crafts-style home is the oldest manor home in metro Detroit. Rare antiquities, centuries-old tapestries, and intricate hand-carved stone and woodwork give Cranbrook House a true sense of early 20th century elegance and reflect the Booths' passion for art.
More than 40 acres of glorious gardens, fountains and sculptures surround Cranbrook House. Follow peaceful paths to flowers, plants and herbs of all colors and varieties. Witness an explosion of color, water and light at the recently restored 1916 Rainbow Fountain.
