Description

A private behind-the-scenes tour of Villa Finale, before it opens to the public, for up to 4 people and led by the site's Director.
Villa Finale, originally built in 1876, was restored in the late 1960s by preservation visionary Walter Mathis, who lived in the home until his death in 2005. This is a rare opportunity to see the unique collection and legacy of Walter Nold Mathis before the Villa Finale opens to the public as a National Trust Historic Site. Highlights include a significant Napoleonic collection; Bohemian glass; works by Texas artists; Mexican art; unique furniture; an outstanding silver collection and much more. Guided by the Director of Villa Finale, you will see the wonderful collection and learn more about the architecture of this handsome 19th Century house -- one of the original "dominos" for the King William Street revitalization -- as well as the National Trust's plans for the historic site.

Special Instructions

Site is not handicapped accessible. Limit of four people. To be arranged in advance at a mutually agreed upon date and time. Valid until May 31, 2008.
