    The Pleasant Home, also known as the John Farson House, is located in the heart of Oak Park, Illinois, one of the nation's most architecturally significant villages. An architectural treasure designed in 1897 by noted Prairie Style architect George W. Maher for investment banker and philanthropist John W. Farson, the home features exquisite stained glass, carved woodwork and lavish interiors.
     Pleasant Home is one of the earliest and most distinguished examples of the Prairie School of architecture. Named a National Historic Landmark, it joins Frank Lloyd Wright's Home and Studio (a National Trust Historic Site) and Unity Temple (a National Trust Partner Place) as the only National Historic Landmarks in Oak Park.
