Description
A tour of the Old Governor's Mansion in Baton Rouge, LA for up to ten people and a historic welcome packet gift consisting of a copy of Historic Baton Rouge: An Illustrated History, a pair of mansion-inspired sterling silver earrings, and a miniature "Kingfish" pin.
The Old Governor's Mansion was built in 1929 by the "Kingfish," Huey P. Long. The Mansion served as Executive Residence from 1930 until 1963 and housed nine of Louisiana's governors including Earl K. Long and the "singing governor," Jimmie Davis. This elegant and historic house museum is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and serves as the headquarters for the Foundation for Historical Louisiana.
The sterling silver earrings take their design from a motif on the East Room marble mantel of the Old Governor's Mansion. The miniature "Kingfish" pin, also sterling silver, is a replica of the lapel pin worn by supporters of Huey P. Long. This pin is usually not available for sale but reserved as a special gift presented by the Foundation for Historical Louisiana.
