Description
Gary Lippincott's fascination with the magical worlds of fantasy and imagination are incorporated into this extremely detailed drawing of a "Knight in Armor." The WGBH "Two Tag" becomes the centerpiece of this illustration as it is embellished to become a gonfalon attached to a perfectly perpendicular spear carried by the mounted knight.
The artwork is so detailed that, from a short distance away, it could be mistaken for an actual photograph. For someone equally as fascinated with the medieval world as Lippincott or an avid "Dungeons and Dragons" player, this work of art would be a unique gift.
The actual illustration is 24 by 19 inches, centered on the pillowcase itself, leaving the hem plain. It is signed by Gary Lippincott along the lower left side border.
About the Illustrator: Although he specializes in fantasy art, Gary has done a lot of illustration along other themes. His artwork appears in children's books, textbooks, book jackets, and even jigsaw puzzles. He has received numerous awards for his artwork at science fiction and fantasy conventions. Collectors are now buying his work worldwide. Even Ed McMahon of the Tonight Show is an owner of a Lippincott original.
A member of the Western Massachusetts Illustrators Guild, Gary has taught Fantasy Art and Imaginative Drawing at the Worcester Art Museum. He has exhibited at Arts Worcester, University of Massachusetts Medical, Bush Galleries, Cambridge Gallery, Southbridge Center for the Arts, Spencer Arts Center, Northampton Center for the Arts, and the Words and Pictures Museum.
