Backstreet is number 16 in an edition of 75 aquatint prints by Kate Sweeney.  The image measures 9" x 12 ½" and is framed to measure 16" x 20".  Ms. Sweeney's print is a slightly abstracted view of several townhouses, located along one of the charming tree-lined streets of Boston.  The setting for the work was created from various photographic studies, illustrating the city's captivating historic areas.  This piece is representative of the artist's architectural body of work, which includes a variety of intriguing city and village scenes. 

 After graduating from Rosemont College and The Art Institute of Philadelphia, Kate Sweeney has pursued a career in the art world in New York and London.  She was a senior manager at Sotheby's, an organizer of international exhibitions and a corporate art advisor.  She recently started her own company, based in London, which specializes in the creation and management of contemporary art collections for corporate, institutional and private clients.  Ms. Sweeney's website is http://www.perspectiveaia.com/.
