Description

You are bidding on two softback books donated by EICS recipient and BBB member, Pikes Peak Library District.  The first book discusses The Colorado Labor Wars of 1903-1904. It documents how and why the labor force started a strike and the subsequent consequences that occurred throughout Colorado.

The second book is a beautiful perpetual desk calendar called Reflections of the Pikes Peak Region that can be used in any year featuring photos from the PPLD Image Collection of wonderful historic events such as the Silver Spruce Ski Club at Glen Cove in the 1930s.  Also featured is a photo of President John F. Kennedy at the USAFA, the flood of 1935, Ruxton Avenue in Manitou Springs in 1909, and the Cragmoor Sanitarium.  Whether you are new to the area or grew up here, this calendar is sure to be one you use each year.

Special Instructions

The PPLD began in 1881 and continues today with two major library buildings, numerous branches, bookmobiles, and a special Carnegie Library restoration.
