This program supports struggling readers and strengthens good readers' skills.  Average reading improvement is nearly two grade levels in four months.  Only two visits to Optimum Reading (34020 Seven Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan) are necessary - on the first and last day.  The rest of the four-month program is done on-line, providing the user with privacy, convenience and flexibility.  On the first day, the user takes a Reading Placement Appraisal.  This determines the user's reading speed, comprehension and vocabulary levels.  Then, a baseline Visagraph Eye-Movement measure is taken to measure the efficiency of the user's eyes during the reading process.  The user begins four months of unlimited online use of the programs determined during the placement process.  Monitoring and support are provided by Optimum Reading staff during this time, with email contact at least weekly.  The concluding appointment includes a final Visagraph measurement and analysis of progress made over the four months.
