Description

Kim Sathia was a professional dancer for many years, performing classical and folk dance with the Royal University of Fine Art. She toured nationally and internationally, and was recognised as one of the leading dancers of her time. In 1997, Sathia was disabled in a car accident and now uses a wheelchair. She has been rebuilding her life slowly. This photo was taken of Kim and fellow dancers at the Cambodian Silk Forum in Siem
Reap.

Taken By Photographer Vinh Dao. Influenced by the work of photographers Glen Friedman and Anton Corbijn, Vinh worked with several local Los Angeles based indie and punk rock groups and specialized in live concert photography.
In 2003, he relocated from Los Angeles to Phnom Penh, Cambodia. For the past 2 years, he has photographed many of the major events in Cambodia, including the Coronation of the new King among others.
In October 2005 he was commissioned by the Epic Arts to document "The Return."
