Australia:
Penfolds RWT Shiraz 1998- 92 points, Rich, ripe and generous, a deep-pile carpet of blackberry, cherry, anise and white pepper flavors that linger on the polished finish(Considered one of the very best Australian shiraz wines- E. Hatch)

Penley Phoenix 1999 Cabernet 90 points-Dark, dense and juicy, with ripe blackberry, black pepper and cedar flavors that broaden and linger on the firm-grained, delicately spicy finish.

Thorn Clarke 2002, Barossa Cuvee 92-94 points this is a true Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petite Verdot. On the nose, sweet cassis vibrant red, (and subtle blue and black fruit), sweet spicy wood,

Bordeaux

Talbot 1990 St. Julien 90 points-Dark ruby color, with mineral, berry and wet soil. Medium-bodied, with firm tannins and a long, fresh finish. Pretty wine. Elegant Talbot.
La Grave a Pomeral- Pomeral 2003- 92 Points Lovely floral and berry aromas with violet undertones. Full-bodied, yet very tight and refined. Dig underneath and find the quality here. Lots going on with the mineral, berry and floral flavors
Cantenac Brown Margaux 2003-89 points- Aromas of blackberry, cherry, currant and lightly toasted oak. Full-bodied, with fine tannins and a fresh, clean finish. Very refined.

Burgundy
Joseph Drouhin Chassagne Montrachet 2000, Marquis de Laguiche White Burgundy(2 bottles) 97 points Intense, this combines smoke and floral notes. It's very concentrated, picking up a mineral component midpalate. Balanced and long, it shows personality and terroir more than finesse. Fine, smoky aftertaste.
Geantet-Pansiot 2003 Gevrey Chambertin 91 pts. Densely packed and sweet, with very good texture and backbone. Finishes with substantial tannins but also noteworthy sweetness and length of flavor

California

Caymus Napa Cabernet 1994-95 points (if you could find it!) A real mouthful of Cabernet any way you taste it. Bold, ripe, rich and flavorful, with complex layers of currant, black cherry and plum flavors nicely accented with oak..a producer with a superb track record.

Chateau Montelena 1996 Estate Cabernet 92 points Openly fruity and seductive, with layers of cherry, currant and berry; extraordinary flavors and balance.

Argyle Reserve Pinot Noir 2002 91 points Ripe and generous, with distinctive violet and rose petal overtones to the cherry and spice flavors, lingering with fine texture in. Twenty percent of the wine will be bottled under screw cap. Best from 2007 through 2012. Actually from Oregon.
