Description

A power lunch you won't want to miss, Publisher Steve Huddleston, The Reporter, Vacaville. Steve Huddleston is not only a brilliant mind; he is also one of the great guys around. Meet one-on-one for a private lunch and learn about the newspaper business. Discuss the important issues a publisher faces when he decides what news we're going to read. And ask what he thinks, editorially speaking, about the important issues facing the City of Vacaville, Solano County, and the State. Or you can ask him about his golf game or whether the Red Sox will make it back into the World Series. Or ask him whatever happened to the Vacaville Science Fair.

Mr. Huddleston will host the winner for a lunch at award winning restaurant Merchant & Main, one of the best restaurants in Vacaville. Definitely a power lunch location.

Mr. Huddleston became publisher of The Reporter in 2004. But his career in journalism spans 30 years in Vacaville and Solano County. He’s been a police reporter, an education writer and political correspondent. He’s interviewed the famous and infamous, including Charles Manson and Bill Gates. He’s watched local politics and covered community events since 1976, which was the year he matriculated from the University of California, Davis. He’s a Little League coach and avid Boston Red Sox fan. He plays golf whenever he can but has shot in the 70s only twice in his life. He and his wife, Cynthia, are raising two sons, Thomas and Henry, ages 11 and 14 respectively.

Special Instructions

The winner will need to contact The Reporter at least one week in advance to make a lunch date at a mutually agreeable time.
