Description

Wendy White, the artist, studied art at Texas Tech University.  This is something that she wrote about the painting, and we have included it, as she wrote it, because we found it to be very inspirational and heartfelt.

"Through my travels as a missionary to Romania, China, and spain, the Lord has put in my heart the desire to use art as a way to connect with people and share the gospel without words.  I lived in Spain for 5 years and was mentored by a wonderful artist named Antonio Soto who paints works that minister to a post-modern culture. I use color and texture as a means to depict a particular verse or theme the Lord has put in my heart.  I have the wonderful opportunity here at TVA to share my passion for art with the children, to get them involved and to unleash their creativity in exciting ways.

This particular painting focuses on the wings from Isaiah 40:31, one of my favorite verses.  The cross represents the Lord and as we hope in Him, we will mount up with wings like eagles.  Through careful study of the shapes and colors of this painting, there are almost endless "wings" represented.  My hope would be that this acrylic painting will remind the one who looks at it that "Hope" is found in Christ and that he can lift our burdens and give us wings to fly to places in our lives we've never dreamed of!"
