1987 Napa Valley Wines.  1987 vintage in Napa was the last of a string of 3 nearly ideal growing seasons.  Spring weather appeared early and the warm temperatures during the flowering resulted in sharply reduced yields.  The lower crop and long frowing season produced wines of great depth, richness, and concentration.

A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (87%), Cabernet Franc (5%) and Merlot (8%), this wine was a "highly recommended" selection by the California Grapevine upon release.  Tasted last year, it shows classic Napa Cabernet character and became more engaging as it opened up in the bottle.
