Description

3 Bottles of 1987 Quady “Starboard”-Frank’s Vineyard 750ml

Andy Quady is one of California’s most respected dessert winemakers.  When he wanted to make a California wine from grapes which are used to make Port, he was unable to legally use that name for the wine.  With tongue firmly in cheek, he named his wine Starboard.  Quady Starboard from Frank’s Vineyard is comprised of the traditional Port varieties of Tinta Cao, Tinta Amarella, Bartardo, and Touriga Nacional.  Recent tasting notes reveal a mahogany color with orange edges, licorice and toffee in the nose, light on the palate with an intriguing dried cherry character.  Decanting is a must for this wine.
