Horizons has four group homes where 19 people who have the most significant disabilities -- including mental retardation, cerebral palsy, and autism -- live. While many of these men and women have a family home to visit throughout the year, some stay at the Group Home every single day. State funding does not cover expenses for 24 hour care, 365 days per year.
