Since the inception of MLS in 1996, D.C. United has been the most successful side not only on the field, but in the stands as well. In 2001, supporters of the Black-and-Red packed RFK in record numbers, leading MLS in attendance with over 21,000 fans per game.

The numbers are impressive, but not as impressive as the spirit of those who have come to RFK to support their side, turning a regular sporting event into a unique experience.
