Fran Decker has lived in Marathon, Florida since 1988. She paints acrylic paintings, found objects and makes jeweled Fantasy Fest Masks. She sells her work locally through galleries and art festivals. Currently, her work can be found at the following galleries and shops:

Her work was part of an exhibit of plein air paintings at the Key West Custom House Museum in the spring of 2003, for which she was an Florida Keys Council of the Arts ArtReach Grant recipient. Her paintings for the Womanfest exhibit at the Custom House Museum for the past three years, " Sea Dreams," "She Dreams" and "Three Dreams" have been featured in the local press.
Fran has participated in various juried shows, including Old Island Days in Key West and several Howard Alan shows. She has exhibited at the Gato Building, the Key West Airport, the Marathon Airport and the Lower Keys Hospital as part of the Art in Public Places Campaign. A trash can at one of the historic bridges sports one of Fran's seascapes.
Fran is an avid sailor and diver, and she and her husband have spent years sailing their Cheoy Lee 35' sloop between Boston and South America. She holds a U.S.C.G. 50 ton license and she and her husband operate a charter sailing business, Double Decker Charters, out of the historic Key West Bight. Fran worked in environmental biology and was the volunteer coordinator for The Nature Conservancy and The Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary prior to pursuing a full time career as an artist. She still serves on the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary Citizen's Advisory Council and is a past chair. You can spot Fran around Key West on her gaily painted "artmobile," biking to various painting spots with the Key West Plein Air Painters.
Fran has painted since her teens and has studied under various Keys artists, including Jim Salem and Judi Bradford ( www.lizardlicks.com ).
