Willem de Kooning remarked "I want to paint like Ingres and Soutine at the same time." The images I make are the merging of many interests and influences, anchored in realism and tradition, in the study of light, in form and plastic space. My roots are in painting but it took the temporary loss of my drawing arm to remind me where my heart truly was. After years of work as a successful commercial artist, I have refocused on the studio and have again begun making pictures for myself. I am in the process of finding my voice again. As such, the work in this portion of the site will be updated constantly as it evolves. I welcome feedback on my search.
