At almost 10 years of age, this is still a deep ruby wine, albeit with the slightest hint of brick on the rim. Intensely woody on both the nose and palate, with lots of toasty new oak, as well as classic claret cedar. Under all the wood is a decent aliquot of wild berries and black currants. Grade: B/B+
