Description
This cast iron bank was made by Arcade Manufacturing between the years 1909 and the early 1920s. The face of the bank is a clock, and measures 2 ¾ x 3 ¾. Originally starting as the Novelty Iron Works in 1868, Arcade Manufacturing was established in 1885 in Illinois. It is known for its cast iron coffee mills, spring hinges, stove dampers, and other such products. However, the company is most well-known for its cast iron toys. It created doll houses, toy trucks, planes, and farm vehicles. These toys have now become collector’s items. The Stephenson County Historical Society has the largest collection of Arcade Manufacturing toys on display in North America. In 1908, the company started producing many toy banks in the form of animals, mailboxes, safes, and even clocks. This cast iron clock bank is in excellent condition
