Margie P. Flynn is principal and co-owner of BrownFlynn, a community relationship management that helps organizations "do well while doing good" in the community. BrownFlynn combines a collaborative approach, innovative consultation and communications solutions to create strategic connections within and between businesses, non-profit organizations and foundations. Based in Highland Heights, Ohio and winner of numerous industry awards, BrownFlynn also is a three-time Weatherhead 100 "upstarts" winner, a "Visionary" winner of SBN's 2005 "Innovators in Business" award and was selected as one of the top 10 Northeast Ohio companies with fewer than 10 employees in the Council of Smaller Enterprises' 2005 "Ten Under 10" competition.
Margie was recently named a 2005 Distinguished Marketing and Sales Award recipient by the Sales and Marketing Executives of Cleveland and, in 2002, was among the "Top Ten Women Business Owners of Northeast Ohio" by the National Association of Women Business Owners and a "Business Woman of the Year" by Inside Business magazine. She also was recognized by Beaumont School as a 2002 Distinguished Alumnae. Before 1996, Margie spent more than a decade managing corporate communications and public relations for National City Corporation. Prior to that, Margie managed marketing and advertising for an insurance brokerage firm. A seasoned marketing, public relations and corporate communications practitioner, Margie serves as BrownFlynn's chief marketing officer, responsible for the firm's business development, marketing, and business management activities.
A graduate of Miami University with a bachelor of science degree in communications, Margie is a graduate and president of the Leadership Cleveland Class of 2004; is a national community engagement advisor to We-Inc., a professional women entrepreneur's organization based in Washington D.C.; serves on the Board of Trustees and the Executive Committee for Shoes & Clothes for Kids (including chair of the communications committee) as well as on the board and member of the nominating committee for American Red Cross Blood Services; is a board member of Saint Martin de Porres High School and is a community advisory board member of The Center for Families and Children; is an advisory board member of Cleveland Bridge Builders as well as an advisory board member and co-chair of the marketing committee for the Saint Ann Parish Endowment Fund; is on the steering committees for Sustainable Cleveland as well as the Beaumont School Alum Networking Group; and is a member of University Circle, Inc. Joseph D. Pigott Leadership Award Selection Committee. She also is on the Public Relations and Community Relations Committee at St. Paschal Baylon School, is a Eucharistic Minister at St. Paschal Baylon Church, and is a member of the Northeast Ohio Fast Company of Friends (sponsored by Fast Company magazine). Margie is a member of the Public Relations Society of America's Counselor's Academy, the Sales and Marketing Executives of Cleveland, and the National Association of Women Business Owners.
