Lee Friedman Hill is the Executive Director of Leadership Cleveland. A 1995 Leadership Cleveland graduate, she assumed this role in November of 2005 with the charge to work with community partners to ensure that our region benefits from having top leadership development and civic engagement programs. Lee has experience in leading and growing community organizations.

Most recently, Lee has been Vice President in the Cleveland office of Northern Trust Bank. For the previous eight years, she was the President and CEO for the Downtown Cleveland Partnership, the not-for-profit organization committed to fostering development and growth in Downtown Cleveland. In this position, she was an integral part of the effort to create a shared vision and land use plan among more than 100 property owners for Lower Euclid Avenue, which has seen more than $1.1 billion invested in this critical part of Downtown Cleveland. During her tenure, DCP's membership grew by more than 2,000% and she built significant civic support for the organization.

From 1991 through 1996, she was the Executive Director for Clean-Land, Ohio, an award-winning not-for-profit environmental organization, responsible for creating and managing a citywide urban reforestation and environmental education program. During that time, she oversaw a $5 million urban reforestation of Cleveland, resulting in the planting of 50,000 trees on city streets and a neighborhood-based community engagement program to foster stewardship.

Her career also includes positions as Development and Marketing Associate for Cleveland State University; Assistant Director for the City of Cleveland's Personnel Department; Special Assistant to the Assistant Secretary for Management and Budget in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services; and, Planning Analyst for the former Standard Oil Company.

A Cleveland native, she graduated from Beachwood High School in 1974 and earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Economics from Colgate University in 1978. She received her Masters of Public Administration from George Washington University in 1979.

She is an active member of the community, serving on the Executive Committee and as Treasurer of The City Club of Cleveland; a trustee of The Cleveland Zoological Society; a member of the 50 Club; a community trustee for the Cleveland Bar Association Foundation; a former trustee of the Greater Cleveland Roundtable; a member of the United Way Professional Services Cabinet; and, a trustee of the Alta House Social Settlement House.

She and her husband, Wayne, president of Edward Howard & Co., live in Cleveland's Little Italy neighborhood. Lee has two children: Taylor Goodman, a freshman at Haverford College, and Chandler Goodman, a junior at Colgate University.
