Lorna Wisham is vice president of External Affairs for The Illuminating Company, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. The region includes Cuyahoga, Geauga and Lake counties.
Before being named vice president in 2005, Ms. Wisham worked for the City of Cleveland as chief of Public Affairs for the Office of Mayor Jane L. Campbell with responsibilities for developing and maintaining external relationships with Cleveland's civic and business communities. She was Mayor Campbell's appointee on a number of boards, including the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission, the Convention and Visitor's Bureau of Greater Cleveland, and the Greater Cleveland Film Commission. Ms. Wisham joined the Mayor's Office as a Community Relations Board Director in 2002.
A 2005 graduate of Leadership Cleveland, Ms. Wisham serves as a board member for the United Black Fund of Greater Cleveland, and the Positive Education Program. She also is a member of Kaleidoscope Magazine's 40/40 and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., a public service organization.
Ms. Wisham's career experiences include being vice president of Marketing at the Downtown Cleveland Partnership; and manager of Events, Department of Parks, and Recreation and Properties for the Office of former Mayor Michael R. White. Earlier in her career, she was an editorial researcher for The Cleveland Plain Dealer's Washington Bureau, researching Congressional, Federal Aviation Administration, and special interest group issues, as well as analyzing campaign reports. She was a member of the Washington Press Corp.
A native of Cleveland and graduate of Shaker Heights High School, Ms. Wisham received a bachelor of arts degree in Business and Organizational Communication from The University of Akron and a master's degree in Public Communication from American University, Washington, D.C.
