This is a very old, antique oak stool with a circular bent wood rung, and a cast steel support structure below the seat. Newer round oak seat adjusts to varying heights. This item has been glued and stabilized. You can fashion your own padded seat top out a standard pillow top or fabric.

This stool has beautiful, graceful lines, has a great patina (except for the seat) and is quite stable. Perhaps it was a bar stool? Or maybe a musician's stool? Since it was born in Montana, We're betting on bar stool!
