Description

Science Fiction and Fantasy Book Fans--listen up! This older laptop computer was owned by Alan Dean Foster*, the highly prolific science fiction writer/fantasy author. He now lives here in Prescott and says he has "written many a book" on this computer. Mr. Foster has provided a letter of authenticity for you along with the computer. Maybe you'll be on "Antiques Roadshow" with it someday!

The computer is a "Zenith data systems Supersport 286e," in case you know what that means. It was manufactured between '84 and '86, It does have a hard drive in it, so there may be remnants of books in there. It has 1 Gb of memory, and a 3.5" floppy drive. It does not come with the original power cord.  Parts for it are still available on many internet sites.

*Alan Dean Foster has written in a variety of genres, including hard science fiction, fantasy, horror, detective, western, historical, and contemporary fiction. He is also the author of numerous nonfiction articles on film, science, and scuba diving, as well as novelizations of several films, including Star Wars, the first three Alien films, and Alien Nation. His novel Cyber Way won the Southwest Book Award for Fiction in 1990, the first science fiction work ever to do so. You'll find his book available on Amazon.com.
