By using "The Proficient Executive", a nurse leader can learn how he/she is viewed by direct reports, peers, and his/her boss. This survey process addresses both operational and behavioral dimensions of success, provides a detailed snapshot of where the leader is now, and includes a developmental plan to improve both leadership and interpersonal skills. This rich source of feedback helps: 1) Promote self-discovery - Participants receive a summary profiling their performance as evaluated by their direct reports, peers, and supervisors. This summary highlights strengths and developmental areas and outlines a plan for achieving greater personal and organizational effectiveness; 2) Identify potential leaders - This process can help nurse leaders assess the overall managerial bench strength of their organization, develop training based on needs, and ultimately obtain higher-level leadership.
