Description

Digital square on rag paper.
Polly French lives along the Deerfield River in Shelburne Falls, MA, where she paints, watches critters and birds and propagates native plants. She doesn't have to go far for inspiration. Looking up, she sees High Ledges Sanctuary and looking down she sees her beloved river. She is really attached to the idea of 'watershed' and knows the value of wetlands. This piece is the first in a series of images which will depict four types of Northeastern wetlands.
She is calling the technique 'mosaics' as it is comprised of a number of digital squares based on her artwork which she cuts out and hand applies to rag paper on which she has drawn a grid. So it is neither an original nor a classic print. Because of built-in variations, each finished piece is marginally different and, for this reason, she has not numbered them in edition. She is limiting Marsh Mosaic to 50 total.
The artwork is of archival quality, the double mats are acid free but not archival; the frame is a brushed greeny gold aluminum.
