Unlike most sculptors today, DeVries, a self-taught master founder of the lost wax method, casts and finishes his own works. Bronze has been the medium chosen by the greatest sculptors, from the early Greek civilization through the Renaissance to modern masters. Rarity, low-numbered editions, superb craftsmanship and originality give a sculpture value, and all can be found in DeVries' work where he imbues his unique aesthetic in every aspect of each sculpture at his River Studio high in the Berkshire foothills. An award winning Master Sculptor and founder, DeVries casts all his own work in bronze: Dance and Figurative Sculpture, Symbolic Sculpture, Portrait and Bas Relief Sculpture, all of which are perfect for installations in public spaces, corporations or in a private home. Many of DeVries' sculptures are also installed as outdoor garden sculptures.

The burgeoning success of DeVries' sculptures keeps his studios bustling. In addition to creating new works each year, he undertakes a few select private commissions. Seeing the work of this artist and his creative environment is a special experience for those traveling in the Berkshires.
